Perhaps a silly question but being a claw hammer player myself, I wonder how you keep from breaking your picking fingernail. I crack mine regularly and it always sets me back.
You guys were great in Skokie.
Tell me about it! The first 10 years I played the banjo, I struggled with my natural nails, and were my nails were long and strong, things were great. When they broke, it took several weeks to get back the same sound. Once I had my first son, Juno, the nursing drained the calcium to the point where I had to start using acrylic nails to keep my playing consistent, and that is what I still do to this day.
did you start out playing blue grass, and have you ever played with the Flecktones?Abigail Washburn responded on 07/31/2018 Next question
Howdy. Wondering which branch of the Washburns you come from? New York/New England, Chicago, Minnesota, or the Southern Branch -NC/Kentucky, etc.
